So I've been wondering why I've felt so upbeat today despite going to a memorial service for my old big boss who died last week of a massive heart attack at the age of 46 (also the boss who I had a big crush on when I started my job, if you recall), especially since I cried my eyes out through the whole service. And I just realized that it's because I've gotten a lot of physical contact by way of hugs today. From all of my grieving coworkers. At the memorial service. For fuck's sake, self.

Aside from that, I'm super pissed that Wondercon isn't in San Francisco next year. Anaheim what the fuuuuuuuck?! I had plans you assholes! I was going to see annaham and gustavvv and possibly Davis peeps and I was going to take scary_lullabies to Acquerello and 500 other eateries I've yet to try and use this awesome hotel groupon and and and. Blarg. I know, I know, I have so many problems that aren't actually problems. And anyway if I go to Anaheim I'll still be able to see Scary and maybe I'll finally be able to eat José Andrés' food at Bazaar (!!!) the prospect of which fills me with a little too much excitement (HE'S A CRAZY GENIUS AND I LOVE HIM OK, I DON"T NEED TO TASTE HIS FOOD TO KNOW THAT MUCH).  JESUS CHRIST I WAS BROWSING HIS WEBSITE (AGAIN) AND HE SERVES AN AFTERNOON TEA. WHAT. I CAN'T EVEN. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF! Wait though, will I seem like a total weirdo if I go to tea and then show up again for dinner? Probably, huh? Oh wellllll because idgaf! If the opportunity presents itself I am GOING.

ANYWAY. My birthday shenanigans were pretty great! scary_lullabies came and we went to a champagne tea (I got the orchid oolong mmm) in DC, stayed at The Quincy then went to Taste of DC for lunch and cityhouse for dinner! Oh man, so brilliant. We went to a local seafood joint with some co-workers later that week as well, which was very nice! My lady was here for a week before she went to Wincon and I miss her like I can't even articulate, man.  It's so much worse this time and I just. It's rough.

But hey! My mom got me some sleepphones and they are amazeballs! I like them a lotttt. And I just got a card from pulparchaeology that is possibly the most relevant card to my interests everrrr! (it's a sound card...Kirk and Spock wish me happy birthday...I don't know how this even exists it's so great!)

FLIST, DO I WANT THIS DRESS!?!

I've been toying with the idea of a maxi dress for a while but I prefer a fitted waist and hate empires so I've thus far had no luck BUT NOW I'M STILL UNCERTAIN. I love the frills at the bottom and the overall shape but but but I'm not sure about the bust? And what color?! I think the 'coral' would go best with my complexion but that's a lotta pink for one woman, particularly one who doesn't have a real fondness for the color. Ahhhh, motherFUCKER!  Should I go for the gray? I should go for the gray.

ALSO I NEED TO BE SAVING MONEY FOR COMIC CON BUT BUT BUT. Wants it, precious!

It was difficult to exclude comics from this beezy.

So I'm fairly certain that no matter when I die, seeing Stephen Fry live in full Klingon garb with scary_lullabies  on my arm is going to be one of the top tens in my life. Though the Q&A afterward with him wearing a tight black tee and still wearing his Klingon makeup was pretty phenomenal as well.

P.S.  Did you know that there's no 'k' in Klingon? True story.

I just got startled by the sound of my own breathing. Nice.

I'm so fucking easy. A coworker who I'm friendly with rubbed my arm and played with my hair today so now I'm all giggly towards her. Also she said "Goodbye, lovely!" to me as she left and seriously, winning my affection should not be this simple. Braaaain you are ridiculous.

In other news I have a new frilly skirt and lace top and a shiny dress and extraordinarily cheap flats. Retail therapy, yay! (WAAAANT)

Hello bleeding disoriented man, you really surprised me by entering my house at 2am. I am glad all you wanted to do was cuddle up to the fireplace and bleed on my floor, but I am still rather startled. Thank you for not being aggressive in any way and for not catching fire to yourself, and also for submitting easily to the police. I'm a little anxious about the court-date I now have to attend, but acknowledge that this encounter could have been much worse, and am actually glad that you found someone to call the police for you and didn't freeze outside or stumble into someone who would cause you more harm.
